Easy Nighttime Beauty Routine
nightime beauty routine.JPG

I feel like people are afraid of a beauty routine/skincare routine because there are SO many products and it’s so hard to choose which products are right for you. Plus a lot of beauty bloggers make it seem SO intimidating with their 10+ step routine.

It definitely doesn’t need to be that hard, and I don’t always use the same products, but I follow the same steps. I want to make it easy for you all to make your own beauty/skincare routine, so I’m going to breakdown my nighttime beauty routine! Video is on my IGTV.

Nighttime Beauty Routine

***Always wash face before skincare - I use Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser***

  1. Gisou Honey Hair Oil // You can’t forget about the hair!! I did a review on this hair oil awhile back and I am still loving it. It moisturizes my hair so much, smells amazing, and a little goes a long way. You want to moisturize your hair in some way after washing it so it doesn’t get too dry.

  2. Summer Friday’s Overtime Mask // A physical exfoliate is my first skincare step. This means that there are actual small chunks of sugar or a mineral that you rub on your face. If you have dry skin like me, you always want to be exfoliating the dead skin cells (ew!) off of your face so the skin stay smooth. I wouldn’t recommend using this mask everyday, but sticking to it 1-3 times a week. You can use any exfoliator, I also love this one from the drug store!

  3. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Serum // So after exfoliating, I like to use this resurfacing serum. I use this almost everyday because I find that it makes your pores smaller and your skin SO soft. I can really tell a difference in how smooth my skin is when I use this serum. I also did a review on this here!

  4. Ole Hendricks Eye Cream // Next I always do an eye cream BEFORE my moisturizer. If you watch the video you see that I make circles around my eyes. Watch me carefully in my IGTV video because if you do it the same as me it will drain the under eyes to make them less puffy (learned this from Lauren over at The Skinny Confidential)

  5. Universal Emulsion // Last thing for your face is a moisturizer! I just use this to lock everything in. I love this one because it’s pretty light, but is really moisturizing. And whatever is left on my hands I like to use as hand lotion!

  6. Honest Chapstick // Last I love to use a good chapstick. My lips are always chapped, so I switch mine up on a regular basis!

There you go! It’s basically a 3 step skincare routine with a 4th step thrown in there. I swear by exfoliating my face, it’s what keeps it so clean and fresh looking. Plus drinking lots of water!

5 Minute Make Up Routine

Why Spend More Than 5 Minutes?

So, I'm sure most of you would rather stay in bed than do your makeup, am I right?

Well that's also how I feel, so I've devised this precise system of products and application that makes me not look dead, but also only takes me 5 minutes in the morning! Yay!

This is perfect for you if you are a busy mom, have a demanding job, or if you have your own business and want to take 5 minutes in the morning to start the day off right.

See below for my tips / what I use for a 5 minute makeup routine! There's a step by step process and a video from Insta stories <3

5 minute makeup routine

My Process

1. I don't wash my face in the morning (too annoying), but instead use this micellar water and these cotton pads (they are literally pillows) to quickly clean my face.

2. Moisturize / serums. I use Drunk Elephant C-firma, hydra gel, and their retro moisturizer! (I tried out their travel size kits to see if I liked the products - morning ones are this or this)

3. Then prime with an illuminating primer, so you have the perfect canvas for your makeup. I like to use this Becca one, but in my video am trying a Bobbie Brown one from my Sephora Play box (highly recommend!)

4. Add one pump of your foundation evenly over your face. I like to use my fingers then to make sure everything is even, lightly spray my beauty blender and dab all over my face.

*Hack: I fill my old spray bottles with water, so I don't waste face mist!!

5. Then apply a little concealer to under my eyes and around my nose, then blend with my beauty blender.

6. Now to powders! First I use this brush and lightly dust on the hollows of my checks (see video) and on my forehead / literally my whole face with this bronzer! I've been loyal to this bronzer since literally 2011 (yes, think about that)

7. Now add a little blush on the apples of your cheeks and a highlighter to the tip of your nose and high points of the face!

8. SPF setting spray to set make-up and add extra SPF (the foundation has 20SPF)

8. Then mascara (DUH!) and chapstick (which I forgot in the video :)

Tag me on insta or DM me if you try out my look or use any tips, would love to see how you do your makeup!!

Nightstand Essential Products

I'll be honest, my bed is my favorite place. I'm the living embodiment of the memes you see on Instagram  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So, this had led me to put together the most amazing bed side products.

These are all of the products I keep in arm's length of me while I'm in bed! See below for a list of all of the products and why I love them so much!!

Nightstand Products:

  1. Lavender Candle: The classic bed-side candle is my favorite. It really sets a relaxing tone after you've showered and can finally wind down from the day. I love the lavender scent (you'll see that's a theme) and got it from Marshalls for $2.99!! Steal it smells amazing.

  2. Book: In my photo I have the 5-Minute Journal which is a pretty good thing for your bedside, but tbh I don't really use it and usually have a book there instead. Any recommendations for good books?! I love reading right before going to sleep to clear my mind and put me in sleep mode.

  3. Micellar Water & Face Cottons: Ahhh. I keep these two products here for when I am extra lazy and don't want to take my makeup off before I go to sleep. I know it's bad, but I would rather do this than nothing at all. Also, the Shiseido facial cottons are amazing and I am obsessed with them!

  4. Lavender Face Mist: I am just obsessed with how this smells and how calm it makes me. And living in NYC that's really all I can ask for.

  5. Hand Moisturizer & Cuticle Oil: Who doesn't love to have soft hands. I love putting this on right before bed because I know it will have time to sink in over night!

  6. Small Dish: Gotta have somewhere to keep all of my nick-nacks, rings, and hair clips! Otherwise, my table would get pretty messy!

  7. Hair Clips: I hate when their hair is in their face, so I keep these little clips here incase I need to pull my hair back, but don't want to have a tight hair tie!

  8. Hand Sanitizer: Again, New York is actually disgusting and sometimes I just want to make sure my hands are definitely clean before I go to bed. This actually goes with me everywhere, but I also put it next to my bed every night.

  9. Water: Gotta always hydrate!

  10. Mint Tea: I. Love. This. It is such a great combination with the candle when you want to just chill for a sec and relax. It aids in digestion too, so I love drinking this a couple hours before bed. The Trader Joe's one is my fave.
